Who They're For and What They Solve
New construction electrical is the complete design and installation of an electrical system in a building that has no existing wiring. It covers the service entrance, main panel, every circuit run, all device boxes, and the final fixtures. The work happens in distinct phases tied to the construction schedule.
This service is for anyone building from the ground up. General contractors framing a spec home need it. Custom builders managing a single high-end project need it. Owner-builders adding a detached ADU need it. So does any developer putting up a light commercial shell that needs a compliant system before occupancy.
Done right, new construction electrical gives you a system sized for how the building will actually be used for the next thirty years. Done poorly, you get failed rough-in inspections that stall drywall, undersized panels that block future EV chargers or heat pumps, and expensive retrofits once walls are closed.
Is It Time?
Most builders reach out at one of four points in the project.
Our Services
Our new construction electrical scope runs the full build, from the first circuit run to the last cover plate.
We run all home runs, branch circuits, and device boxes while walls are open. Boxes are set to finish depth, circuits are labeled, and everything is placed for the inspector to read easily on the first walkthrough.
We perform a full load calculation from your plans, then size and install the meter base, main panel, and grounding system. Panel capacity accounts for future load, not just the finished square footage.
Once drywall and paint are done, we install every receptacle, switch, fixture, and cover plate. Devices are tested circuit by circuit, and the panel directory is completed before we call for final inspection.
We rough in data drops, EV charger conduit, generator interlock provisions, and smart switch neutrals during the open-wall phase. These cost very little now and three to five times more as a retrofit.
Not sure which approach your situation needs? We assess first and recommend only what’s necessary, no upsells.
Why Homeowners Choose Mr. Local Services
We confirm your rough-in window in writing at bid. Your drywall crew is not waiting on us, and your framing-to-inspection timeline stays intact.
We review plans before quoting, so the bid reflects the actual scope. Your electrical line item holds from contract through trim-out unless you change the plans.
We wire to current NEC and label everything for the inspector. If a rough-in fails on our workmanship, we correct it at no cost and no schedule charge.
Every bid starts with a full load calculation and plan walkthrough. You get an accurate number and a clear scope, not a guess based on square footage alone.

How It Works
Send your plans or call 951-458-6466. We complete a load calculation and return a fixed-scope bid within 48 hours.
We confirm your rough-in and trim-out windows in writing and coordinate directly with your framing, plumbing, and HVAC crews.
We run all circuits, set boxes, and install the panel. We call for rough inspection and meet the inspector on site ourselves.
After paint, we install devices and fixtures, test every circuit, complete the panel directory, and carry the final inspection through to sign-off.
Pricing
We quote from plans, not guesswork, and the number we give you is the number you pay. Most residential new construction electrical runs $4 to $9 per square foot for a complete rough-in, panel, and trim-out package.
Four factors move that range: total square footage and circuit count, panel size and service amperage required by your load calculation, fixture and device grade specified in the plans, and any low-voltage or EV-ready provisions added during rough-in.
A typical 2,000 square foot build lands between $9,000 and $16,000 complete. Send your plans and call 951-458-6466 for a fixed-scope number within 48 hours.
Rough-in is all wiring, boxes, and panel work done while walls are open, before drywall. It is inspected separately from the final.
Rough-in typically takes two to five days depending on size. Trim-out takes another two to four days after paint is finished.
Yes. We pull all electrical permits, schedule both inspections, and meet the inspector on site ourselves for each one.
That depends on your load calculation. Most new homes need 200 amps, though larger builds with heat pumps or EV charging often require more.
No, unless you change the plans. Our fixed-scope bid is built from a full plan review, so there are no discovery-based change orders.
If it fails on our workmanship, we correct it immediately at no cost and absorb any schedule impact on our end.
As soon as permits clear. Booking rough-in before framing finishes gives you the best date selection. Call 951-458-6466.
Send us your plans and we will return a fixed-scope bid within 48 hours. Dates fill fast once permit season picks up, so the earlier you call, the better your schedule options.
