Who They're For and What They Solve
Shower safety modifications are targeted changes to an existing tub or shower that make bathing possible without help. The work ranges from adding anchored grab bars and a seat, up through removing a tub entirely and building a low-threshold or curbless shower you can walk or roll into.
Most people call us after something changes. A fall or near-fall in the bathroom. A hospital or rehab discharge with new limits. An arthritis, stroke, or Parkinson’s diagnosis that makes lifting a leg over a tub wall unsafe. Sometimes an occupational therapist puts it in writing first.
The problem being solved is simple and serious. Wet tile plus a high tub wall plus nothing to hold onto is where bathroom falls happen. Left alone, people stop bathing alone, start needing a caregiver present, or fall and lose their independence permanently. Modification prevents that.
Is It Time?
Most families notice these long before they call.
Our Services
Shower safety modification covers four distinct approaches, and the right one depends on your bathroom and your mobility.
We remove the existing tub and install a shower pan sized to the same footprint, so no walls move. This is the right approach when stepping over a tub wall is the main barrier. You get a full-size, walk-in shower with a low entry.
We cut down or eliminate the curb, slope the base toward the drain, and waterproof the assembly. This is the approach when a walker, rollator, or shower chair has to come in with you. The result is zero-step access with no pooling.
We open the wall, install solid blocking, and mount bars rated to hold 250 pounds at the heights you actually use. Add a fold-down seat, handheld sprayer, and relocated valve. This is the fastest and lowest-cost scope when the shower itself is already usable.
We install high-traction tile or apply a slip-resistant treatment, then correct the slope and add linear drainage where water collects. This is the right approach when the layout works but the surface does not.
Not sure which approach your situation needs? We assess first and recommend only what’s necessary, no upsells.

Pricing
We give real numbers, because being quoted blind is how people get overcharged.
Cost depends on four things: the scope you choose, whether plumbing or the drain has to move, the condition of the wall and subfloor behind the tile, and the materials you select.
Typical ranges: grab bars, seating, and reachable controls run $450 to $1,600. Slip-resistant surfacing and drainage correction run $900 to $2,800. A tub-to-shower conversion runs $4,500 to $9,000. A full barrier-free curbless build runs $8,000 to $16,000.
Your assessment and written quote are free, with no obligation.
Yes, and often that is the right call. Anchored bars, a seat, and traction surfacing solve most problems without demolition.
Most projects run one to three days. A barrier-free build with drain relocation can reach five days.
No. Drywall anchors fail under load. We install solid blocking and rate every bar to hold 250 pounds.
No. Low-threshold showers and quality tile read as modern upgrades, not medical equipment, to most buyers.
That is a common cause of falls, which is why we also offer non-slip flooring installation for the rest of the bathroom.
