Dryer Vent Replacement Services

When cleaning stops working, the duct itself is the problem and replacement is the fix.

Mr. Local Services has handled dryer vent replacement since 2001, and venting is the only thing we do. We tear out crushed foil, failed flex, and undersized runs, then rebuild the line in rigid metal duct to code. You get a written flat quote before anything starts.

Who They're For and What They Solve

Is Dryer Vent Replacement and When Do You Need It?

Dryer vent replacement means removing the existing exhaust duct between your dryer and the outdoors and installing an entirely new run. Cleaning clears lint from a duct that still works. Replacement is what happens when the duct itself has failed — crushed, torn, disconnected, corroded, or built wrong from the start. (50 words)

You need it when the ductwork can no longer move air properly no matter how clean it is. That covers flattened flex behind the dryer, runs that exceed allowable length, duct that terminates in an attic or crawlspace, pest-damaged lines inside walls, and vinyl or foil duct that never met code.

A failed vent traps heat, moisture, and lint inside the duct and the wall cavity around it. That means longer cycles, a hotter dryer, musty laundry, and a real fire risk as lint accumulates against a restricted line. Replacement restores airflow and removes the hazard at its source.

    Our Services

What Our Dryer Vent Replacement Covers

Replacement ranges from a two-foot connector swap to a full concealed run rebuilt end to end. These are the four approaches we use.

    Full Rigid Metal Duct Replacement

We remove the entire existing run and rebuild it in smooth-wall rigid metal duct, joined with foil tape rather than interior screws. This is the right approach when the line is long, previously flex, or fails IRC developed-length limits. Airflow improves immediately and lint stops catching.

    Transition Hose Replacement

The short connector between dryer and wall is the most abused piece in the system. We replace crushed foil or non-compliant vinyl with UL-listed semi-rigid, sized and positioned so pushing the dryer back never flattens it again. Fast, inexpensive, and often all a newer home needs.

    In-Wall and Concealed Duct Replacement

When the run hides inside walls, ceilings, attics, or crawlspaces, replacement means accessing and rebuilding what you cannot see. We handle sectioning, support, sealing, and patch-ready access — the right call for pest damage, disconnected joints, or duct venting into an enclosed space.

    Termination and Exterior Cap Replacement

A new duct run ending at a rusted hood or screened outlet still fails. We replace the wall or roof termination with a proper damper-equipped cap, no screen, sealed at the penetration so the line exhausts freely and nothing backdrafts in.

Not sure which approach your situation needs? We assess first and recommend only what’s necessary, no upsells.

    How It Works

    Our Dryer Vent Replacement Process

    1

    Call and Describe the Problem

Reach us at 951-458-6466. We ask about dry times, duct material, and the run’s path, then book an assessment within 24 to 48 hours.

    2

    On-Site Assessment and Written Quote

We trace the full run, measure developed length, inspect the termination, and hand you a flat written quote. If cleaning would fix it instead, we say so.

    3

    Removal and Rigid Duct Installation

Old duct comes out, new rigid metal goes in — properly supported, foil-taped, and terminated at a damper-equipped exterior cap. Most replacements finish the same day

    4

    Airflow Test and Walkthrough

We run the dryer, measure airflow, and document the result. You see the old duct, the new run, and a clean laundry area before we leave.

What Does Dryer Vent Replacement Cost?

We publish ranges because guessing wastes your time. Every quote is fixed in writing after the assessment.

Four factors drive the price: total developed length of the run, how accessible the duct path is, whether the termination needs replacing, and whether any section is concealed inside walls, ceilings, or crawlspaces.

    Typical ranges:

    • Transition hose replacement only: $95 to $180
    • Short accessible run, full rigid replacement: $350 to $650
    • Long or partly concealed run: $700 to $1,400
    • Concealed run with access and patch-ready repair: $1,200 to $2,400

Assessments are free and carry no obligation. If cleaning solves your problem instead, you pay for cleaning, not replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dryer Vent Replacement

Cleaning works when the duct is intact and only clogged. If the run is crushed, torn, or non-compliant, our dryer vent cleaning service page explains what a cleaning visit covers so you can compare — but a failed duct refills within weeks

Most jobs land between $350 and $1,400 depending on run length and access. You get a fixed written quote before work begins.

Accessible runs are typically finished in two to four hours. Concealed or long runs may take most of a day.

Always. Smooth-wall rigid metal is the code standard under IRC M1502 and the only material that resists lint buildup long term.
