Who They're For and What They Solve
Soundproofing is construction, not decoration. It means rebuilding a wall, ceiling, or floor assembly so sound energy cannot pass through it. That involves four principles working together: adding mass, damping vibration, decoupling surfaces from the framing, and sealing every gap where noise leaks around the assembly.
Most people need it when a room stops working for its purpose. A nursery beside a living room, a home office on a shared wall, a bedroom under a noisy upstairs floor, a studio that records every passing sound, or an office where private conversations carry straight into the hallway.
Left alone, noise problems do not fade. They dictate when you sleep, where you work, and what you can say out loud. Soundproofing solves that permanently by changing the structure itself, which is why foam panels and extra insulation alone almost never deliver the result people expect.
Is It Time?
If any of these sound familiar, your wall or ceiling assembly is the problem.
Our Services
Soundproofing is not one product. We build the assembly your specific noise problem requires.
We install double-layer drywall assemblies with viscoelastic damping compound between sheets. The added mass blocks airborne sound while the damping layer converts vibration into heat. This is the core treatment for voices, music, and TV noise through walls.
Decoupling separates the drywall from the framing so vibration cannot travel straight through. We install resilient channel or isolation clips with hat channel, depending on how much separation your assembly needs and what ceiling height you can spare.
Impact noise from above requires a different approach than wall treatment. We build suspended and decoupled ceiling assemblies using clips, channel, and dense insulation to break the path that footfall and furniture movement travel down.
Mineral wool inside the cavity absorbs sound energy that mass alone cannot stop. We also seal flanking paths at outlets, top plates, and perimeter gaps, because unsealed joints undo the performance of every other layer.
Not sure which approach your situation needs? We assess first and recommend only what’s necessary, no upsells.
Why Homeowners Choose Mr. Local Services
We listen to your actual noise before quoting. Airborne and impact problems need different assemblies, and guessing wrong wastes thousands of dollars.
Every layer, clip, channel, and sealant line is priced before work begins. You approve the full scope in writing with no change-order surprises later.
We build tested wall and ceiling systems rather than selling one miracle product. The assembly is what performs, never a single material on its own.
If the finished assembly does not perform as specified in your written scope, we return and correct it at no additional charge.

How It Works
Call 951-458-6466 and describe the noise. We schedule a free on-site visit, usually within forty-eight hours.
We identify the noise type, inspect the existing assembly, check flanking paths, and confirm what performance level is realistic for your space.
You receive a line-by-line scope covering materials, assembly type, expected outcome, and timeline. Nothing starts until you approve it.
We build the assembly, then tape, texture, and leave the surface paint-ready. Job sites are protected daily and cleaned before we leave.
Pricing
We publish real numbers because vague pricing wastes everyone’s time. Cost depends on four things: the noise type you’re fighting, the square footage treated, whether existing drywall must come out, and the performance level you need.
Typical ranges: a standard soundproof wall assembly runs $12 to $22 per square foot installed. Decoupled ceiling assemblies for impact noise run $18 to $32 per square foot, since they require more labor and framing. Acoustic insulation and sealing alone starts around $4 to $8 per square foot.
Every quote is itemized and fixed before work starts. Call for your free assessment and exact numbers.
Properly built assemblies deliver dramatic, measurable reduction. Foam panels and thin mats do not. The difference is whether the structure changed or just the surface.
Soundproofing stops sound from entering or leaving a room. Acoustic treatment controls echo inside a room. Most spaces need one, some need both.
Often yes, for full performance. In some cases we can layer over existing drywall, though results are more limited. The assessment determines which applies.
A single room usually takes three to five days including finishing. Multi-room and ceiling projects run one to two weeks depending on scope.
No. We complete all work with proper drywall finishing and taping, so the surface is smooth, textured to match, and ready for paint.
Yes. Ceiling-only decoupling is one of our most requested jobs, especially for impact noise from floors above in multi-story homes and apartments.
