Permanent perimeter security for homeowners and property managers who want ironwork built once and built right.

Mr. Local Services has fabricated and installed wrought iron and steel fencing since 2001, welding panels in our own shop instead of assembling imported prefab kits. You get heavy-gauge steel, powder-coated finishes, concrete-set posts, and written per-foot pricing before a single weld is struck. Every structural weld carries a 10-year warranty.

Who They're For and What They Solve

Is Wrought Iron & Steel Fencing and When Do You Need It?

Wrought iron and steel fencing is a metal perimeter system built from vertical pickets welded into rigid horizontal rails, then coated against corrosion and anchored into concrete-set posts. Traditional wrought iron is hand-worked; most modern ornamental fencing uses mild or tubular steel fabricated to the same look with better consistency and strength.

Property owners choose it when wood has rotted, chain-link looks industrial, or a perimeter needs to actually stop somebody. It suits gated driveways, pool enclosures, courtyard walls, commercial lots, and estate frontage. Anyone replacing a fence for the last time rather than the next decade lands here.

It solves the two problems cheaper materials never fix: real intrusion resistance and a lifespan measured in decades. Neglected ironwork, though, fails from the ground up. Rust creeps under thin coatings, welds crack, posts loosen, and a repairable fence becomes a full replacement within a few seasons.

    Our Services

What Our Wrought Iron & Steel Fencing Covers

Our wrought iron and steel fencing work spans four distinct approaches, and most properties need one clearly more than the others.

    Ornamental Wrought Iron Panel Fencing

Decorative picket panels with scrolls, rings, spear or ball finials, and matched gate hardware. This is the right approach when curb appeal and property value drive the project more than raw security. You get an open sightline, defined boundary, and a finish that reads intentional from the street.

    Structural Steel Security Fencing

Heavy-gauge square tube with tightened picket spacing, welded top rails, and anti-climb geometry. We specify this for commercial perimeters, storage yards, and residential properties following a break-in attempt. The outcome is a barrier that resists cutting, spreading, and climbing rather than simply marking a line.

    Custom Fabricated Ironwork

Shop-built one-off panels for irregular grades, curved runs, historic matching, and non-standard heights. When existing ironwork needs extension or a stock panel simply will not fit the site, we fabricate to measured drawings. You get seamless continuity instead of an obvious patch.

    Rust Remediation, Refinishing & Repair

Grind-back of corroded sections, structural weld repair, post resetting, and full recoating. This applies when the frame is sound but the finish has failed. Restoring salvageable ironwork costs substantially less than replacement and buys another long service run.

Not sure which approach your situation needs? We assess first and recommend only what’s necessary, no upsells.

Why Homeowners Choose Mr. Local Services

Why Property Owners Choose Mr. Local Services for Wrought Iron & Steel Fencing

    In-House Fabrication, Not Imported Prefab

Our certified welders build panels in our own shop. That means correct gauge, consistent welds, and custom dimensions, never a stock kit forced onto your property line.

    Written Per-Foot Pricing Before Fabrication

You receive a linear-foot price, gauge specification, and coating system in writing. Nothing changes unless you approve a scope change first.

    Dual Written Warranty

Ten years on structural welds, five years on powder coat finish. Both documented at contract signing, both honored by the same crew that installed the fence.

    Published Installation Specifications

Posts set in concrete at 24 to 30 inches depending on soil and height. We tell you the spec upfront rather than burying it.

    Pricing

What Does Wrought Iron & Steel Fencing Cost?

Most wrought iron and steel fencing runs $35 to $85 per linear foot installed. Standard ornamental panels at four feet sit near the lower end; heavy-gauge security steel at six feet or taller reaches the upper end.

Four factors move that number: steel gauge and panel height, coating system (powder coat versus hot-dip galvanized), site grade and soil conditions, and custom fabrication detail like curves or matched historic profiles. Gates price separately based on span and hardware.

Rust repair and refinishing typically runs $18 to $35 per linear foot. Your written quote locks the figure before fabrication begins.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wrought Iron & Steel Fencing

True wrought iron is hand-forged and rare today. Most ornamental fencing is fabricated steel, which delivers the same appearance with greater strength and consistency.

Properly coated and concrete-set steel fencing lasts 40 years or more. Coating maintenance every 8 to 12 years extends it considerably further.

Often yes. When posts and frames remain structurally sound, grind-back, weld repair, and recoating cost far less than replacement.

We do. Properties needing anti-climb spacing, height increases, or perimeter hardening should look at our steel security fencing, which covers the engineering specifications those jobs require.

Shop fabrication takes two to four weeks. Installation runs one to three days for most residential runs.

Damage on non-metal materials falls outside this page, so our general fence repair service covers wood, vinyl, and chain-link fixes with the same crews and warranty terms. Call 951-458-6466 and we will route you correctly.
